The Burgwin-Wright House: style in residence

Article Abstract:

The Burgwin-Wright House in Wilmington, NC, is a three-story house built by John Burgwin in 1770. It features the combination of English Palladian and Georgian architecture and designs. It was purchased and restored by the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in North Carolina in 1937.

Joshua Hempsted house

Article Abstract:

Joshua Hempsted's house on Hempsted St. in New London, CT, has preserved the early life of the Americans. Built in 1678, the house remains one of the oldest documented houses in the US. The Hempsted house, bought by the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society, underwent restoration work.

The Bellamy Ferriday house

Article Abstract:

The Bellamy Ferriday House is one of the most popular historic sites in Bethlehem, CT. Built in the mid-1700s by Joseph Bellamy, the house was first restored by Henry and Eliza Ferriday who furnished it with exquisite colonial furniture.
