UPS Courier Services

Article Abstract:

United Parcel Service (UPS) has selected GRID 2 International to change its image beginning with its logo up to its store design. The prototype design, which was developed for the Toronto, Ontario, Canada store, has been recreated for other UPS retail stores in Europe and Canada and will be implemented in stores located in the US. In addition to the physical transformation, UPS is changing its name to UPS Courier Services with focus on its overnight delivery services with business owners as its target market.

Towers Perrin: New York City; Perkins & Will

Article Abstract:

International management consulting firm Towers Perrin contracted Perkins & Will to design its new 100,000-sq-ft office space in New York City. The designers used a universal office design concept while providing hoteling offices for non-resident consultants and visiting executives. Private offices and workstations were standardized into 10-by-12 ft and 7-by-8 ft, respectively. The boardroom was also designed to be converted into two smaller rooms.

A round peg in a square hole

Article Abstract:

The BSHA Interiors Group has designed the management office of the San Diego Design Center. This project posed the challenge of turning a 2,800-square-foot box-like area into an office suited to many different functions. The designer incorporated the geometric shapes of the building's original architect and used materials innovatively to maximize the amount of natural light. Office workstations were designed to provide a sense of privacy.
