Agencies hold regional key

Article Abstract:

United Kingdom universities and colleges will be helped by the planned introduction of regional development agencies because it will encourage collaboration between all the institutions and with business. Some observers suggest the universities will lose their independence. Universities will be able to assist the regional agencies by using their expertise in team working and in planning strategic matters. They may also be able to develop new ideas, examine important issues, such as environmental risks, and provide life long learning opportunities.
