A conversation with Martha Swope

Article Abstract:

Dancer and photographer Martha Swope took pictures of the dancers and choreographers of the New York City ballet and musical theater beginning in the late 1950s. Swope was one of the first photographers to take pictures while a ballet was being performed. Swope danced until the late 1960s and then concentrated on Broadway photography.
