Fifty years of looking at Bournonville: A conversation with Clive Barnes

Article Abstract:

Writer and ballet critic Clive Barnes looks back on almost half a century of discussions and writings about the tradition of August Bournonville and the Royal Danish Ballet. Barnes recalls the first time he saw a Bournonville production and how impressed he was by the quality of the male dancing and the completely different technique that was used.

Les Ballets des Champs-Elysees: a legendary adventure

Les Ballets des Champs-Elysees, a dance company started in the 1930's follows Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The young French ballet established this small company that for seven years fascinated audiences in Paris and abroad, and was considered as a legendary adventure.

The Polish Ballet at the New York World's Fair, June 1939

Article Abstract:

A world fair was opened in New York City in 1939 to celebrate the World of the Future. In this fair, the Polish Ballet participated to propagate the polish national culture as well as its industrial and commercial achievements.
