Agrippina

Article Abstract:

Agrippina Vaganova is profiled, and she dominated Russian ballet training for decades. Vaganova can be credited with overhauling the Soviet ballet curriculum. Under her, Soviet ballet developed a breadth and amplitude that bore great relevance to the creation of a new society. She insisted, however, on keeping the standards of classical quality in the transition from the Imperial to the Soviet style.
