Richard Pousette-Dart

Article Abstract:

A collection of journal entries reveals artist Richard Pousette-Dart's feelings about the relationships between painting and photography as well as their intersection with life and the human imagination. Pousette-Dart gained popularity as an abstract painter in the 1940s and 1950s but was also a creative photographer. A gallery exhibit at Zabriskie Gallery in New York, NY, offered insights into this overlooked aspect of his career and his personal attitudes on art.
