Theatre in revolution: an exhibition and a catalogue
Article Abstract:
The dance and theater curator of San Francisco's Fine Arts Museums, Nancy Van Norman Baer, organized the 'Theatre in Revolution: Russian Avant-Garde Stage Design 1913-1935' which opened at that city's California Palace of the Legion of Honor in Dec 1991, remaining until Feb 1993. The exhibition, loaned by the Bakhrushin State Central Theatrical Museum in Moscow, contains theatrical designs from the pre-socialist realism period in the Soviet Union. The exhibition shows the accomplishments of the Russian avant-garde during their most productive period.

Some aspects of nudity in theatre dance
Article Abstract:
Nudity is not an accepted feature of dance performances, although Western artists are more open to minimal clothing of bodies than their Eastern counterparts. Dance critics do go so far as to believe that long dresses prevent the authentic movement of the dancers' bodies. Yet, even Western audiences are not accustomed to the idea of complete nudity on stage.
