Ownership of the moon and Mars? The "land-grant" act as means of stimulating human settlement of celestial bodies

Article Abstract:

The large role in which private enterprise has in space travel requires an even greater legal framework to ensure that ownership of territory was done properly. This would allow owners to better reduce the costs associated with their exploration and use of resources from their territory. A legal analysis is presented.

Faster and cheaper - but better?

Article Abstract:

Space policy seems to have regrettably deemphasized future human settlement in favor of an easier and faster endeavor, which is robotic exploration to gather data for scientists on earth. Nevertheless, the current emphasis could be a good starting point for achieving the goal of human settlement.

Lawyers launched to Graz

Article Abstract:

Four US law schools sent teamsto compete in a moot court focusing on space law. The winning team from George Washington University won a trip to Graz, Austria, where they will attend a space law convention and compete with teams from around the world.
