A bird in hand?

Article Abstract:

The opportunities in the Asian job market are surveyed with the awareness that all predictions could go for a toss should there be a fresh outbreak of 'bird flu'. The factor most influencing employment availability in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand is the improved trade with China and with the financial markets looking up there is a need for accounting professionals who, it is suggested, would do well to learn Mandarin.

Tim Youngberry FCPA, CFO of the Department of family and community services (FaCS) believes that governance and accountability which are the key to an organization will be the big issues for the government departments in 2004. FaCS has been working on the accrual model for the past 4 years and Tim believes that the real challenge is to get everyone to work on the same page with greater transparency.
