Article Abstract:

The shared services strategy in corporations involves sharing and utilizing resources, information and individuals more effectively and efficiently to complete business operations. The shared services strategy requires single entity operation without a duplication of effort with customers charged full price for these services. IBM's finance function and Shell Services International operate with a shared services strategy.
