Article Abstract:
Company bankruptcies in South Korea have followed that country's banking crisis and devaluation, and employee buy-outs have become more common following bankruptcies. Some of the new companies face problems such as inherited debt, and loss of rights to brand names. The government is hoping that small business will help economic recovery as the big conglomerates decline. Not all government support programs for small business help employee buy-outs, though there is a move to extend support to cover the buy-outs.
