A Bacillus megaterium plasmid system for the production, export and one-step purification of affinity-tagged heterologous levansucrase from growth medium

Article Abstract:

A multiple vector system for the production and export of recombinant affinity-tagged proteins in Bacillus megaterium was developed. Levansucrase Lev from Lactobacillus reuteri 121 (3, 6) was directed into the growth medium to improve the efficiency and use of a novel Bacillus megaterium-based secretion system for heterologous proteins, and recovered by one-step affinity chromatography.

Sequencing and characterization of pBM400 from Bacillus megaterium OM B1551

Article Abstract:

The recombinational labeling, isolation, and sequencing of the remaining 35 kb of pBM400is presented. The description reports the initial description of several interesting plasmid-borne genes, including a possible integrase, an insertion sequence element, unusual metabolic genes, and several large inverted and direct repeats (DR).

Molecular characterization of plasmid pBM300 from Bacillus megaterium QM B1551

Article Abstract:

Strain QM B1551 of Bacillus megaterium contains seven compatible plasmids. To expand the understanding of these plasmids, the replicon region from pBM300 was cloned, sequenced, and functionally characterized.
