A computer program for testing pairwise linkage disequilibria in subdivided populations

Article Abstract:

A new computer program written In TURBO PASCAL version six was developed to test pairwise linkage disequilibria in subdivided populations. The program defines linkage equilibrium based on a genotypic data and uses multiallelic situations to compute for allelic frequencies, values of correlations between pairs of allele at different loci and linkage equilibrium. The program runs on IBM personal computers and compatibles without any need for extended memory.

Inheritance and linkage of isozyme loci in hexaploid oat

Article Abstract:

The inheritance of genes encoding 11 enzyme systems and linkages in three F2 populations is described. The activity of all the enzyme systems studied at a particular gel region was stable therefore they probably had null alleles. Two linkages in 45 pairwise combinations were observed. Linking in six loci in 15 combinations were unique to the oat while seven combinations were seen in more than one family. The F2 generations showed independent assortment.

Linkage analysis of 10 enzyme loci in the genus Pomoxis (Pisces: Centrarchidae)

Article Abstract:

Six hundred fifty one interspecific hybrid crappie individuals were utilized in the investigation of linkage among 10 enzyme-encoding loci. Results indicate that eight loci segregated independently while the other two, FH-1* and PGM-1*, are linked and have been designated as a novel linkage group III among centrarchid fishes. The two linked loci has a recombination frequency range of 0.119 to 0.153.
