Abberrant histone acetylation, altered transcription, and retinal degeneration in a Drosophila model of polygmutamine disease are rescued by CREB-binding protein

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on transcriptional coactivator CREB-binding protein which is involved in the pathogenesis of polygmutamine expansion neurodegenerative disease. The authors describe the use of Drosophila model in demonstrating that polygmutamine-induced neurodegeneration is caused by a defect in histone acetylation and transcription profile alteration.

High resolution ChIP-chip analysis reveals that Drosophila MSL complex selectivity identifies active genes on the male X chromosome

Article Abstract:

X-chromosome-specific male specific lethal (MSL) binding is defined at high resolution in two male cell lines and in late-stage embryos. Results support a model in which the MSL complex selectively identifies target genes in the context of active transcription.
