Acinetobacter baumannii has two genes encoding glutathione-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase: evidence for differential regulation in response to iron

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Results indicate that these isolates produce a protein which is immunologically related to glutathione-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase.

Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans harbours type IV secretion system genes on a plasmid and in the chromosome

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the genes encoding type IV secretion system. The identification of these genes in the Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans chromosome and on the strain VT745 plasmid has been carried out and the results suggest that the plasmid-encoded type IV secretion system on pVT745 is involved in DNA transport.

Genetic organization of an Acinetobacter baumannii chromosomal region harbouring genes related to siderophore biosynthesis and transport

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Acinetobacter baumannii 8399 clinical isolates which secrete dihydroxybenzoic acid and catechol siderophore. The authors describe the identification and characterization of genes coding for putative siderophore transport proteins.
