Archaeal genomics: an overview

Article Abstract:

The informational systems associated with archaeal genomics and its expression were analyzed. Evidences show that similar to bacteria, archaeal genomes' operational organization and structure are attributed to a Universal Ancestor and can be considered convergent. Results of studies on the genomes' information processing systems prove that mechanisms for genome replication were not yet developed during the time of the Universal Ancestor. However, these informational systems could provide a useful picture of cellular evolution.

Aminoacyl-tRNAs: setting the limits of the genetic code

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine the aminoacyl-tRNA (aa-tRNA) molecules, serving as substrates for translation. The findings reveals no other change in the cellular quality machinery is required to expand genetic codes as aa-tRNA synthesis is the most important factor in doing the same.

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, the genetic code, and the evolutionary process

Article Abstract:

The evolution of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and their relationship to the genetic code is described. This research shows that cells were more primitive in the distant past, and did not exchange genetic material as often.
