p300 interacts with the nuclear proto-oncoprotein, SYT, as part of the active control of cell adhesion

Article Abstract:

A role for p300 has been shown to exist in the regulation of cell adhesion. It seems to be mediated by p300 association with the nuclear proto-oncoprotein synovial sarcoma translocation (SYT). Complexes containing p300, not CBP, and the nuclear proto-oncoprotein SYT have been found in confluent cultures of G1-arrested cells. They are not in sparse cells and are not found during S or G2. SYT sequences make up the N-terminal segment of a fusion oncogene product, SYT-SSX, found in synovial sarcoma, an aggressive human tumor.

TBP-like factors come into focus

Article Abstract:

TATA-box-binding protein (TBP)-like factors are discussed in this review article. Topics include differences between TBPs and TBP-like factors (TLFs), Caenorhabditis elegans TLF and differentiation, TRF1 and TBP in Drosophila TRIIIB, and a function specific to multicellular animals. TLF is generally necessary for cellular differentiation, based on C. elegans research.

From lineage to wiring specificity: POU domain transcription factors control precise connections of Drosophila olfactory projection neurons

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Drosophila olfactory system. Results demonstrate that POU domain transcription factors are expressed in anterodorsal and lateral lineages of this system and are required for lineages' dendritic targeting.
