CRIg: A macrophage Complement Receptor required for phagocytosis of circulating pathogens

Article Abstract:

The identification and characterization of a Complement Receptor of the Immunoglobulin superfamily, CRIg, that binds complement fragments C3b and iC3b is reported. CRIg represents a dominant component of the phagocytic system responsible for rapid clearance of C3-opsonized particles from the circulation.

A protein-protein interaction network for human inherited ataxias and disorders of Purkinje cell degeneration

Article Abstract:

770 mostly novel protein-protein interactions were identified using a stringent yeast two-hybrid screen. The protein-protein interaction network was developed for the 20 or more different inherited cerebellar ataxias characterized by Purkinje cell degeneration.

Ankyrin-based subcellular gradient of neurofascin, an immunoglobulin family protein, directs GABAergic innervation at purkinje axon initial segment

Article Abstract:

The synapse targeting process follows the establishment of a subcellular gradient of neurofascin 186. Results implicate ankyrin-based localization of L1CAMS in subcellular organization.
