Employee termination

Article Abstract:

Any charges of drug abuse against an employee must be investigated before accusing the employee of committing illegal and immoral acts. Defamation lawsuits result from unsupported and unexplained dismissals. References for employees accused of drug use should only refer to their performance on the job. Some state laws protect employers against defamation suits resulting in unfavorable references.
