Chromatin replication

Article Abstract:

Accurate replication of chromatin strands during cell division is essential for cell processes to occur. Chromatin replication commences at nucleosome-free initiation sites identified by the replication fork followed by the random dissociation of histones into its tetramers. Histone tetramers then join deoxyribonucleic acid systematically, H3/H4 tetramers preceding H2A/H2B. Chromatin propagation subsequently occurs with the binding of transcription factors to their corresponding receptors.

Genetic analysis of the SR protein ASF/SF2: interchangeability of RS domains and negative control of splicing

Article Abstract:

The first demonstration that an SR protein can influence splicing of specific pre-mRNAs in vivo has been accomplished. A genetic system developed in the chicken B cell line DT40 was used. ASF/SF2 depletion resulted in a substantial increase in splicing of an HIV-1 tat pre-mRNA substrate, showing that ASF/SF2 can repress tat splicing in vivo.

Insulator dynamics and the setting of chromatin domains

Article Abstract:

The models for fuzzy and fixed boundaries incorporating probabilistic and dynamic parameters are described. The operational observation of an insulator effect relies on a delicate balance between the efficiency of the insulator and that of the element to be counteracted.
