Elongation of the Kcnq1ot1 transcript is required for genomic imprinting of neighboring genes

Article Abstract:

A differentially methylated CpG island, KvDMR is contained in the imprinted gene cluster at the telomeric end of mouse chromosome 7, which is required for the imprinting of multiple genes and it maps within intron 10 of Kcnq1 contains the promoter for a paternally expressed, noncoding, antisense transcript Kcnq1ot1. The Kcnq1ot1 transcript was truncated by inserting a transcriptional stop signal downstream of the promoter.

Cotranscriptional recruitment of the dosage compensation complex to X-linked target genes

Article Abstract:

The study provides direct evidence for transcription-dependent recruitment of the male-specific lethal (MSL) complex to X-linked genes. Results support a model for MSL complex targeting to transcriptionally active X-linked genes that encode a certain combination of small degenerative target sequences in their transcribed region.

The notch target genes Hey1 and Hey2 are required for embryonic vascular development

Article Abstract:

Direct targets of notch signaling are the Hey family of bHLH transcription factors. Hey1/Hey 2 are important transducers of notch signals for cardiovascular development that can mediate arterial cell fate decisions.
