Extent of mitochondrial DNA sequence variation in Atlantic cod from the Faroe Islands: a resolution of gene genealogy

Article Abstract:

The shape of the gene genealogy and the nature of the polymorphism by adding sequences of another region of the cytochrome b gene and the TP intergenic spacer that makes a total of 566bpp from 74 cod from the Faroe Islands, are examined. The genealogical relationships and homoplasies of cod mtDNA are clearly depicted by providing a clearer picture of the topology of the genealogy.

Genetic structure of fragmented populations of a threatened endemic period of the Rhone river: Zingel asper

Article Abstract:

Five microsatellite loci were used to assess the level of genetic variability within and among populations localized in different sub-basins. The high turnover of the Zingel asper populations and the major role of dispersal in population persistence, suggest that the differentiation observed could mainly have arisen from habitat fragmentation in recent history.

Reconciling nuclear microsatellite and mitochondrial maker estimates of population structure: Breeding population structure of Chesapeake Bay striped bass (Morone saxatilis)

Article Abstract:

The striped bass tributary breeding populations in Chesapeake Bay using protein polymorphisms, nuclear DNA and organelle is studied. The results reveal that upper and lower Chesapeake Bay tributaries exhibited distinct length haplotypes.
