Fine-scale genetic structure and fire-created habitat patchiness in the Australian Allodapine bee, Exoneura nigrescens (Hymenoptera: Apidae)

Article Abstract:

Microsatellite loci were used to examine population structure and within-nest relatedness of Exoneura nigrescens along with the relationship between fire interval and colony characteristics. The spatial distribution of relatedness shows a strong pattern of isolation-by-distance at geographic distances to 35 km, suggesting that genetic partitioning among burn patches is a result of dispersal ability.

Genetic effect of transportation infrastructure on roe deer populations (Capreolus capreolus)

Article Abstract:

The roe deer is used as an example species for understanding how the separation by an anthropogenic barrier influenced genetic differentiation of populations. An influence of the transportation infrastructure was revealed on genetic divergence of the roe deer population examined, but no impact on genetic diversity was detected.

Phylogeography and spatial genetic structure of the Southern Torrent Salamander: Implications for conservation and management

Article Abstract:

Patterns of phylogeographic and population genetic structure are examined in the Southern torrent salamander cytochrome b gene at the local and regional spatial scales. Substantial haplotype variation among Southern torrent salamander population was seen at regional and local scales.
