Global analysis of growth phase responsive gene expression and regulation of antibiotic biosynthetic pathways in Streptomyces coelicolor using DNA microarrays

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the eubacterial species Streptomyces coelicolor proceeding through growth cycle associated with the transition from the primary to the secondary metabolism and antibiotic production. The use of DNA microarrays and mutagenesis in investigating the gene expression and multigene antibiotic biosynthetic pathways is reported.

The chaplins: a family of hydrophobic cell-surface proteins involved in aerial mycelium formation in Streptomyces coelicolor

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on aerial mycelium surface proteins chaplins. Results demonstrate that the chaplins are involved in aerial mycelium formation, and suggest that chaplins' coating of the envelope is important for aerial hyphae to grow out of aqueous environment of aerial mycelium into the air.

Temporal regulation of a paired-like homeodomain repressor/TLE corepressor and a related activator is required for pituitary organogenesis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the specific corepressors and DNA-binding transcription factors. The functional significance of the coordinate expression of these corepressors has been investigated and the results are reported.
