Identification of a novel telomerase repressor that interacts with the human papillomavirus type-16 E6/E6-AP complex

Article Abstract:

The study demonstrated that using shRNAs to reduce E6-AP expression that E6-AP is required for E6- mediated telomerase induction. A yeast of two-hybrid screen to find new targets of the E6/E6-AP E3 ubiquitin ligase complex identified two isoforms of NFX1, that are, NFX1-123 that coactivated with c-Myc at the hTERT promoter, and NFX1-91that repressed the hTERT promoter.

The X-ray structure of the papillomavirus helicase in complex with its molecular matchmaker E2

Article Abstract:

The analysis data provides the first molecular insight into how a protein can regulate the assembly of an oligomeric AAA+ complex. The X-ray structure of the hexameric helicase with its molecular matchmaker E2 is solved.

Novel pro- and anti-recombination activities of the Bloom's syndrome helicase

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the various pro- and anti-recombination biochemical activities of the Bloom's syndrome helicase (BLM). BLM is found to be highly beneficial and efficient in homologous recombination.
