In vivo convergence of BMP and MAPK signaling pathways: impact of differentia Smad1 phosphorylation on development and homeostasis

Article Abstract:

Smad1 mutant mice carrying mutations that prevent phosphorylation is generated to understand the physiological significance observations of the study. It is found that Smad1 mutants survive embryogenesis but exhibit defects in gastric epithelial homoestasis correlated with changes in cell contacts, actin cytoskeleton remodeling, and nuclear beta-catenin.

Ephrin-B1 forward and reverse signaling is required during mouse development

Article Abstract:

Mouse links carrying mutations in the efnb1 gene are generated to understand the role of ephirin-B1 and the importance of ephrin B1-induced reverse signaling during embryonic development. The results indicate that ephri-B1 acts both as a ligand and as a receptor in a tissue specific manner during embryogenesis.

Compartmentalized signaling by GPI-anchored ephrin-A5 requires the Fyn tyrosine kinase to regulate cellular adhesion

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate the role of caveolae-like membrane microdomains in signal transduction and involvement of Fyn tyrosine kinase in this process. Data also reveal that interaction of Eph receptors and cognate ephrins in a bidirectional signaling process controls patterning during brain development.
