Invasion of spores of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Gigaspora decipiens by Burkholderia spp.

Article Abstract:

The prokaryote-eukaryote association is explored using the model, in which Burkholderia cells interact with arbuscular mycorhizal fungi. Research indicates that Burkholderia spp. colonize the arbuscular mycorhiza Gigaspora decipiens hyphae and spores. Data reveal that the attachment to eukaryotic surfaces occurs via fibrillar structures.

Environmental factors that affect the survival and persistence of Burkholderia pseudomallei

Article Abstract:

A study on the environmental biology of Burkholderia pseudomallei, which leads to improvements in the control, and prevention of melioidosis is presented. Metabolic adaptation and internalization within eukaryotic systems are likely to present extraordinary environmental advantages to B. pseudomallei.
