Production of recombinant alpha-galactosidases in Thermus thermophilus

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Thermus thermophilus. The construction of a Thermus strain suitable for heterologous alpha-galactose production and the practical value of this strain are described.

Isolation of toxigenic Nocardiopsis strains from indoor environments and description of two new Nocardiopsis species, N. exhalans sp. nov. and N. umidischolae sp. nov

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Nocardiopsis strains isolated from water-damaged indoor environments. Results indicate that these isolates have produced toxins detected via the boar spermatozoa used as test cells.

Cloning of the gene encoding a novel thermostable alpha-galactosidase from Thermus brockianus ITI360

Article Abstract:

The cloning and sequencing of an alpha-galactosidase gene from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus brockianus ITI360 as well as the purification and characterization of the recombinant enzyme were conducted. The objective was to investigate a thermostable alpha-galactosidase from Thermus bacteria, to isolate the encoding gene and to characterize the recombinant protein. The enzyme was observed to have a high affinity for oligomeric substrates. Results indicate that no alpha-galactosidase activity could be detected in the crude extracts of the mutant strain.
