MET17 and hydrogen sulfide formation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Article Abstract:

Research reveals that hydrogen sulfide production by the commercial isolates of yeast during fermentation is not due to low sulfur incorporation into organic compounds as indicated by the negative correlation between O-acetylserine/O-acetylhomoserine sulfhydrylase activity and hydrogen sulfide release.

A novel gene encoding xanthan lyase of Paenibacillus alginolyticus strain XL-1

Article Abstract:

Results show that xanthan lyase, encoded by the xalA gene, is a 100,823 dalton protein and can be heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli. Data indicate that lyase expression in E. coli is 30-fold higher compared to Paenibacillus alginilyticus strain XL-1.

Optimized expression of a thermostable xylanase from Thermomyces lanuginosus inPichia pastoris

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates AOX1 promoter efficiently produces Thermomyces lanuginosus xylanase in Pichia pstoris. Data indicate that cell density greatly influences the xylanase expression followed by methanol and yeast nitrogen base concentration.
