Methylation-induced repression: belts, braces and chromatin

Article Abstract:

Methylation-induced repression is discussed in this review article in which assessment of recent progress in understanding how some newly identified proteins bring on transcriptional repression is presented. Topics include routes to repression, methyl-CpG-binding proteins, chromatin remodeling, histone deacetylase, and limits of histone deacetylation.

Nuclear visions: functional flexibility from structural instability

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the nucleus composed of the defined structural compartments. The ability of the nucleus to regulate events within defined organized structures has been investigated and the results are reported.

Lamins and disease: insights into nuclear infrastructure

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the human diseases laminopathies which map to the gene encoding A-type lamins, LMNA. The review of the articles on the laminopathies with the unclear pathophysiological mechanisms is presented.
