Mitochondrial Sequence Reveals High Levels of Gene Flow Between Breeds of Domestic Sheep from Asia and Europe

Article Abstract:

Research on European and Asian sheep breeds shows that sheep possess the highest intercontinental dispersal rate and the weakest population structure of all domestic animals to date. Introgression was found to have had a key role in breeding development and also in subsequent selection.

Phylogenetic and Phylogeographic Analysis of Iberian Lynx Populations

Article Abstract:

Genetic diversity research on Lynx pardinus is presented with the goal of developing wildlife conservation management goals. Findings show a significant demographic bottleneck compared to other felid species. Other data include local molecular genetic variation patterns.

Genetic Diversity Present Within the Near-Complete mtDNA Genome of 17 Breeds of Indigenous Chinese Pigs

Article Abstract:

Research reveals limited genetic variation between 17 indigenous Chinese pig breeds. A lower average pairwise distance was found, compared to European commercial pig breeds, and a dendrogram shows Chinese breed sequences clustering loosely into two groups.
