Molecular cloning and characterization of a novel mosquitocidal protein gene from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. fukuokaensis

Article Abstract:

A research was conducted to examine a novel mosquitocidal protein gene called cry20Aa which was cloned from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. fukuokaensis. Total DNA was digested with several restriction enzymes and removed to a nylon transfer membrane while proteins were separated on a SDS-PAGE gel and transferred to a polyvinylidene fluoride membrane. Results showed that the DNA insert contained a 2,260-bp open reading frame that encodes a 753-amino-acid polypeptide with a molecular mass of 86,138 Da.

Cloning, expression, and site-directed mutagenesis of the propane monooxygenase genes from Mycobacterium sp. strain M156

Article Abstract:

Propene monooxygenase is cloned from Mycobacterium sp. strain M156, based on hybridization with the amoABCD genes of Rhodococcus corallinus B276. The results suggest that changing the volume occupied by the side chain at V188 leads to a systematic alteration in the stereoselectivity of styrene oxidization, presumably by producing different orientations for substrate binding during catalysis.

Biocontrol of the sugarcane borer Eldana saccharina by expression of the Bacillus thuringiensis cry1Ac7 and Serratia marcescens chiA genes in sugarcane-associated bacteria

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Bacillus thuringiensis cry1Ac7 gene that shows activity against the sugarcane borer Eldana saccharina. The cloning of this gene under the tac promoter control has been carried out.
