Neural guidance molecules regulate vascular remodeling and vessel navigation

Article Abstract:

The development of the embryonic blood vascular and lymphatic systems requires the coordinated action of several transcription factors and growth factors that target endothelial and periendothelial cells. The new advances in the understanding of the roles of these axonal pathfinding molecules in vascular remodeling and vessel guidance, indicating that neuronal axons and vessel sprouts use common molecular mechanisms for navigation in the body is summarized.

The establishment of neuronal properties is controlled by Sox4 and Sox11

Article Abstract:

The role of Sox4 and Sox11 in the formation of neurons in the vertebrate CNS is examined. The results have revealed a central regulatory role of Sox4 and Sox11 during neuronal maturation and mechanistically separate cell cycle withdrawal from the establishment of neuronal properties.

Cullin 5 regulates Dab1 protein levels and neuron positioning during cortical development

Article Abstract:

The mechanism for Disabled-1 (Dab1) degradation during development of the mammalian neocortex is investigated. The degradation depends on Dab1 phosphorylation at specific tyrosinie residues and on the E3 ubiquitin lipase component Cullin 5.
