Chromatin remodeling by ATP-dependent molecular machines

Article Abstract:

The chromatin remodeling occurs at nucleosome level and it is mediated by the chromatin-remodeling complexes, belonging to a family of ATP-dependent molecular machines. Research discusses the mechanism of action of these complexes, containin ATPase subunit, with respect to transcriptional regulation, DNA repair, homologous recombination, and chromatin assembly.

Kinesin motors as molecular machines

Article Abstract:

The mechanism by which kinesin microtubule motors convert ATP hydrolysis-derived energy into work is discussed. Research indicates that these molecular motors are of two types, plus- and minus-end kinesin motors, whose function involves several mechanical elements such as kinesins.
