Role of the TAK1-NLK-STAT3 pathway in TGF-beta-mediated mesoderm induction

Article Abstract:

The serine phosphorylation of STAT3 induced by TAK1-NLK (TGF-beta-activated kinase-Nemo-like kinase) cascade that is essential for TGF (transforming growth factor)-beta mediated mesoderm induction in Xenopus embryo is reported. The findings provide the first evidence that TAK1-NLK-STAT3 cascade participates in TGF-beta-mediated mesoderm induction.

The C. elegans p38 MAPK pathway regulates nuclear localization of the transcription factor SKN-1 in oxidative stress response

Article Abstract:

The Caenorhabditis elegans PMK-1 p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway regulates the oxidative stress response through the Cap-N-Collar transcription factor SKN-1. The results delineate the Caenorhabditis elegans p38 MAPK signaling pathway leading to the nucleus that responds to oxidative stress.

TGF-[beta] signaling-mediated morphogenesis: Modulation of cell adhesion via cadherin endocytosis

Article Abstract:

The cellular morphogenesis is mediated by TGF-[beta] ligand. The expression of genes by TGF-[beta] regulate the cell adhesion through endocytosis of cadherin.
