Senseless, a Zn finger transcription factor, is necessary and sufficient for sensory organ development in Drosophila

Article Abstract:

Research reveals that the senseless gene encoded protein is a nuclear protein with four Zinc fingers and is involved in the proneural gene expression. Data also show that sens gene expression in turn is activated by proneural genes suggesting that a feed back mechanism is involved in the development of sensory organs in Drosophila.

Senseless acts as a binary switch during sensory organ precursor selection

Article Abstract:

The important role of senseless (Sens), a zinc-finger transcription factor in sensory organ precursor specification process is presented. It is considered as a binary switch that is fundamental to sensory organ precursor selection.

Gfi1 functions downstream of Math1 to control intestinal secretory cell subtype allocation and differentiation

Article Abstract:

Transcriptional repressor Gfi1 functions downstream of Math 1 in intestinal secretory lineage differentiation. Gfi1 functions for selecting Paneth/goblet versus enteroendocrine cell fates among intestinal secretory progenitors.
