Spatial distribution of Rhodopseudomonas palustris ecotypes on a local scale

Article Abstract:

The authors have investigated spatial distribution and genetically distinguishable ecotypes of Rhodopseudomonas palustris in the environment. The correlation between genetic and physical distances has been studied, and the population structure of R. palustris has been analyzed to confirm the species identity and to understand diversity patterns within and between the sampling species.

Prokaryotic metabolic activity and community structure in Antarctic continental shelf sediments

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on prokaryotes from marine sediments sampled in Antarctica. The authors report the results of their studies of prokaryote community activity and structural characteristics within these sediments carried out via the use of rRNA probe hybridization and sequencing of denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis bands.

Biodiversity, community structural shifts, and biogeography of prokaryotes within Antarctic continental shelf sediment

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on prokaryotes from Antarctic continental shelf area. The authors describe their study of the prokaryotic diversity and community structural changes within the surficial sediment core carried out via the use of 16S ribosomal DNA clone library analysis.
