Specific polyunsaturated fatty acids drive TRPV-dependent sensory signaling in vivo

Article Abstract:

The exact identity of the lipids as well as molecules derived from these lipids, which can modulate TRP cation channel activity, are unknown to researchers. Tests were conducted using genetic as well as behavioral analysis to know more about the identity, which showed that a subset of 20-carbon polyunsaturated fatty acids with omega-3 and omega-6 acyl groups act as endogenous modulators of TRPV signal transduction.
