Sulfate-reducing bacteria methylate mercury at variable rates in pure culture and in marine sediments

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the methymercury production. The quantification of the differences in methylmercury production in pure cultures and in marine sediments to determine the sulfate-reducing bacteria strains is discussed.

Analysis of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria from hypersaline Mono Lake, California, on the basis of 16S rRNA sequences

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the ammonia-oxidizing bacteria from the hypersaline lake in California. The PCR amplification of DNA extracted from the filtered water samples has been carried out.

Evaluation of a fluorescent lectin-based staining technique for some acidophilic mining bacteria

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the fluorescence-labeled wheat germ agglutinin staining technique. Results indicate that this technique is effective for staining acidophilic mining bacteria.
