The APC tumor suppressor counteracts beta-catenin activation and H3K4 methylation at Wnt target genes

Article Abstract:

The APC tumor suppressor and beta-catenin (beta-cat), a transcriptional coactivator in Wnt signaling pathway, have opposing actions at Wnt target genes and beta-cat promotes H3K4 trimethylation at the c-Myc gene in vivo. The H3K4Me3 levels increase upon induction of c-Myc transcription by beta-cat and decline when transcription is shut off in cells expressing the APC tumor suppressor.

A pathway in quiescent cells that controls p27(super Kip1) stability, subcellular localization, and tumor suppression

Article Abstract:

Two knock-in mouse models were created to study the mechanisms that regulate p27 in normal cells and cause misregulation of p27 in tumors. These two mutant alleles identify steps in a pathway that controls the proteasomal degradation of p27 uniquely in quiescent cells.
