The RNA-binding protein HuD: A regulator of neuronal differentiation, maintenance and plasticity

Article Abstract:

An updated view of member of Hu family of Au rich elements-binding proteins known as HuD and its role in multiple aspects of a neurons life including the initial phenotypic commitment and differentiation, as well as synaptic remodeling during learning paradigms and in response to injury and regeneration are presented. The current state of knowledge concerning the molecular and cellular events regulating the expression, activity and function of HuD in neurons is discussed.

The synaptic muscle-specific kinase (MuSK) complex: New partners, new functions

Article Abstract:

Study is conducted which focuses on the multiple muscle-specific kinase (MuSK) effectors so far identified that place MuSK at the center of a multifunctional signaling complex involved in the organization of neuromuscular junction (NMJ) and associated disorders. It is found that MuSK effectors provide a coherent molecular basis to their functional complexity and thereby sustain their pleiotropic function in NMJ formation.
