Research articles are often considered to be the basic currency of science, but the very modern laboratory research are often incompatible with the aliquot suitable for publication in a scientific manuscript. The future of scientific data lies in digital storage and access and hence it is necessary to revamp academic publishing to ensure efficient database deposit.
