The highly conserved LepA is a ribosomal elongation factor that back-translocates the ribosome

Article Abstract:

The highly conserved LepA, present in all bacteria and mitochondria, has represented a third bacterial elongation factor with a novel function in translation that is required for accurate and efficient protein synthesis. The results have revealed that LepA has the unique function of back-translocating posttranslocational ribosomes, suggesting that it recognizes ribosomes after a defective translocation reaction and induces a back-translocation, thus giving elongation factor G (EF-G) a second chance to translocate the tRNAs correctly.

Maintaining the ribosomal reading frame: the influence of the E site during translation regulation of release factor 2

Article Abstract:

RF2 frameshift window is used to display the premature release of the E site tRNA (ribonucleic acid) from the ribosome, which is coupled with high-level frameshifting. The plus 1 frameshift event is prevented due to the presence of the E site tRNA, thus indicating the importance of E site for reading-frame maintenance.

Translation silenced by fused pair of tRNA synthetases

Article Abstract:

GluProRs gets released from a multisynthetase translation complex in response to a gamma-interferon and forms a four-protein GAIT complex. It silences translation of ceruloplasmin (Cp), a protein linked to the
