The product of the yvoC (gerF) gene of Bacillus subtilis is required for spore germination

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the hypothesis that the product of the yvoC (gerF) gene of Bacillus subtilis is required for spore germination. The effect of gerF mutations on spore germination suggest the substantial role of GerF in the germination process. Results confirmed that the only gene in the operon influencing germination is yvoC which encodes a homologue of known prelipoprotein diacylglyceryl transferases.

Transcriptional responses during outgrowth of Bacillus subtilis endospores

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the gene expression regulation during outgrowth of Bacillus subtilis endospores. The expression and activity of the sigma (super)B, sigma (super)D and sigma (super)H factors and the potential encoding extracytoplasmic function sigma factors in mutation and expression studies have been explored and reported.

Characterization of the Streptococcus gordonii chromosomal region immediately downstream of the glycosyltransferase gene

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Streptococcus gordonii glycosyltransferase gene gtfG. The identification of the genes transcribed on the opposite DNA strand downstream of gtfG has been carried out and the results are presented.
