Timing and magnitude of peak height velocity and peak tissue velocities for early, average, and late maturing boys and girls

Article Abstract:

Longitudinal data from the Saskatchewan Pediatric Bone Mineral Accrual Study has been used to study the magnitude and timing of peak velocities in height and tissue for 60 adolescent boys and 53 adolescent girls characterized as early, average, or late maturing. Relationships among tempo of maturation, midparent height, and growth in height of adolescent boys and girls

Article Abstract:

Longitudinal data from the Wroclaw (Poland) Growth Study has been used to investigate the relationships among skeletal maturation rate, midparent height and growth in height during adolescence for 184 boys and 166 girls. Seven biological parameters derived from the Preece-Baines model 1 were applied to the data.
