Redoxing calcium from the ER

Article Abstract:

A novel mode of Inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (InsP3R) accessory protein that confers upon the receptor calcium, pH, and redox sensitivity is identified. The findings underline the independence of oxidative protein folding and calcium signaling.

Reviving the exosome

Article Abstract:

A complex of exonucleases called the exosome is used to carry out an RNA decay in the 3'-5' direction in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. It is found that the purified exosome shows a weak activity in vitro.
