Why we must re-educate African science

Article Abstract:

The lack of relevant and adequate local scientific or technological skills has created a developmental time lag in most African countries and hence it is necessary to develop Africa's own centers of excellence in critical research so that scientists can deal with their local problems and collaborate more effectively globally. A cadre of scientists whose skills are linked to Africa's development need to be nurtured so that they can fight the threats of hunger, disease and poverty.
