c-Kit triggers dual phosphorylations, which couple activation and degradation of the essential melanocyte factor Mi

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on microphthalmia (Mi), a transcriptional factor that is essential for melanocyte development. The effect of c-Kit signaling on Mi phosphorylation has been described.

Molecular mechanism of light responses in Neurospora: from light-induced transcription to photoadaptation

Article Abstract:

The light-induced hyperphosphorylation of white collar (WC) proteins inhibits bindings of the large WC-1/WC-2 complexes (L-WCC) to the LREs. It is showed that, in vivo, due to its rapid hyperphorylation, L-WCC can only bind transiently to light response elements (LREs), indicating that WCC hyperphorylation is a critical process for photoadaptation.

Malignant melanoma: Genetics and therapeutic in the genomic era

Article Abstract:

The genetics and biology of the malignant dieses melanoma, drawn from expanding genomics information and lesson from development and genetically engineered mouse models are summarized. The presence of multiple pigmented lesions, including freckles and banal or clinically atypical moles and a strong family history for melanoma are associated with a quantitatively increased melanoma risk.
