p300 and ATF-2 are components of the DRF complex, which regulates retinoic acid- and E1A-mediated transcription of the c-jun gene in F9 cells

Article Abstract:

The DNA binding subunit of differentiation regulatory factor(DRF), the activation transcription factor-2 (ATF-2) and p300 cooperate c-jun gene transcription activation. They form a protein complex that responds to RA or E1A differentiation inducing signals. The transactivation of c-jun gene in F9 cells is also probably induced by the phosphorylation of ATF-2.

Prespore-specific gene expression in Bacillus subtilis is driven by sequestration of SpoIIE phosphatase to the prespore side of the asymmetric septum

Article Abstract:

The transcription factor O F's compartment-specific activation depends on the membrane protein SpoIIE. O F is released in the prespore compartment after septation after the serine phosphatase of SpoIIE sparks it. A study of the distribution of a SpoIIE-GFP fusion protein offers insights into the reason for selective activation in the prespore.
